Louise Allan

Louise Allan’s début novel, The Sisters’ Song (A&U 2018) won the 2018 Tina Kane Emergent Writer Award. The manuscript was shortlisted for the 2014 City of Fremantle–TAG Hungerford Award and awarded a Varuna Residential Fellowship. Louise was the 2019 Scholarship Writer-in-Residence at Katharine Susannah Prichard Writers Centre.

Prior to writing, Louise was a medical practitioner, working in the field of breast cancer. Louise lives in Perth, WA, with her family and three dogs. In addition to writing she’s a keen-but-slow swimmer and enjoys reading, music and nature.
